By setting {'email_on_failure': True} in default_args would send an email only once per DAG on failed task. Tasks after "failed task" would be in "upstream_failed" state and wouldn't send any email. So technically it's already notifying if a dag fails because of a task failure. Also, please share your DAG to see why all tasks are sending notifications.

The REST API also doesn’t expose a DELETE endpoint for XComs. Question: Is there any supported way in Airflow 3 to clean up old XCom entries automatically from a DAG? Or is the only option to run airflow db clean outside DAGs (e.g. cronjob)? What I tried I searched for a solution to automatically delete old XComs from inside a DAG.
