I want to get the new 2% cash back WF card but this is will be my first card from WF and I want to know what are the some common reasons people are denied? Based on reading everyone's responses, it may be beneficial to change the thread title to something that requests people's experiences with being approved OR denied for Wells Fargo credit cards.

Also have the Autograph for 3% cell phone bill and cell protection. Got great SL and SP for CLIs. I've always had good customer service experience with them too. I second the Autograph card.

Wells Fargo "Switch my Card" comparison I have a Wells Fargo Cash Wise (1.5% everything card) I got a few years ago. It was mainly for the SUB (as it was a preapproval), to get a foothold with WF as a major national bank, and to eventually combine limits with other WF cards.
The application process with Wells Fargo was very easy. After the instant approval, I was prompted to set up my Wells Fargo account. But, to do that I needed my card number, which I didn't have. (This is a strong point for AmEx which gives you your card number right away.) The customer service rep couldn't have been nicer.
