The State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) is a state-level, independent Authority created by the Georgia General Assembly to operate tolled transportation facilities within Georgia and act as the transportation financing arm for the State. SRTA manages the collection of tolls on Georgia’s Express Lanes System through the use of Peach Pass, the state’s all-electronic tolling technology.
The Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) is a state-level authority that addresses mobility and air quality in metro Atlanta. In 2017, GRTA and State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) became administratively attached and began providing the services of both state authorities. As such, all functions for both authorities are provided by the staff and leadership of SRTA.

SRTA is governed by a five-member Board of Directors chaired by the Governor of Georgia. Board membership includes the Director of the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget (OPB), the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), an appointee of the Georgia Lieutenant Governor and an appointee of the Georgia Speaker of the House.
